Most of his tenure, 22 years, was with American Airlines, working all across the enterprise, from marketing to operations, from I.T. to international planning. Rob teaches two specialized MBA electives at Georgetown, in effective crisis management and channel strategy; both courses leverage his deep experience in consumer marketing, communications, and leadership (he was appointed managing director of advertising and marketing planning two weeks after the 9/11 attacks). He also helps McDonough with MBA recruitment, career mentoring, and other voluntary activities. In addition to Georgetown, he is an invited guest lecturer, speaking annually at more than 25 business schools worldwide, including Kellogg, Wharton, London Business School, and the Stockholm School of Economics. Students appreciate his deep and broad professional experience across many functions, his global perspective, and his energetic, interactive classroom style. Britton says, "Although my teaching experience spans more than 100 institutions in 21 countries, I treasure my relationship with Georgetown, its academic quality and especially its commitment to integrate values and ethics into education."

Dr. Chaesten Remillard

Chaseten Remillard is a communications scholar interested in questions of social and environmental justice. With expertise in visual and professional communications, Remillard’s research includes topics as varied as homelessness, Canadian artist Bill Reid, hockey art, the Alberta Oil Sands, and shark films. Despite this eclecticism, he consistently interrogates how images gain and transmit meaning and how these meanings serve to reinforce particular “ways of seeing” ourselves and the world around us. Currently, Remillard is completing a book on the visual communication of homelessness in the Canadian press.

Remillard earned a joint honours BA in History and English Literature from McGill University, and subsequently completed his MA and PhD in Communications Studies from the University of Calgary. For both graduate degrees, Remillard was the recipient of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Canadian Graduate Scholarship and was a nominee for the Governor General’s Academic Gold Medal Award.

Engaging with his creative and innovative nature, Benjamin helped form the city’s new public relations and crisis team which was accountable for corporate media relations, social media, crisis and issues management.

Benjamin played critical communication leadership roles during Canada’s two largest and costliest natural disasters: 2013 Calgary Flood & 2016 Fort McMurray wildfires. Acknowledgement for his contributions were received from both Prime Minister Brian Mulroney and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. These two unprecedented events have afforded Benjamin unique communication experience and perspective in responding to disaster events and engaging with multiple stakeholder groups and levels of government.

Benjamin was called as an expert communication witness at the Elliott Lake mall collapse public inquiry hearing, participated in a DRDC research project: Expert Round Table of Social Media in Emergency Management, and has traveled across the country sharing his experiences with municipalities, schools, and organizations.

With a drive for continuous learning, Benjamin immerses himself in the classroom environment where he doesnt’ think of himself as a teacher but rather a facilitator of the exchange of information.
